The Game That Got Me Into Gaming: First Impressions of the trailer, and more!

So, first thing’s first. If you haven’t heard of Spyro the Dragon, let me tell you a little about the character. I would describe Spyro as a spunky, determined, and charismatic purple dragon that will do anything to stop evil forces and save his friends. He loves to joke around with his friends and explore the world, always looking for something new.

Now, about the games themselves. Spyro the Dragon: Reignited Trilogy, of course, includes three games: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro the Dragon: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro the Dragon: Year of the Dragon. The remaster does not change the story or gameplay, but rather it improves the visual affects and graphics of the game, making it suitable for next gen consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The original game was released on Sept. 10, 1998. The remaster will be released on Sept. 21, 2018, making it over 20 years since the initial release.

The trailer for the game was released April 5, 2018. Before it was released, there were rumors of the apparent remaster that gamers thought would never happen. And just like that, a leaked image appeared on Nintendo’s official store, which included images, description, and price. Shortly after the leak, the official announcement followed.

When I first saw the trailer release, I thought to myself: “Is this real?” I burst into excitement when I heard that it was true. Compared to the original game, the difference is phenomenal. The graphics are beautiful while still maintaining the cartoonish feel of the original 1998 game. I am definitely looking forward to its release in September, and I encourage you to try the game out yourself.
